OUR HOSTING PHILOSOPHY
Having been involved in the past with many low-budget hosting companies thinking that it's all the same so why not get it cheaper, we discovered (the hard way) that low prices don't always include excellent service. In fact, poor response times, customer support, and server issues were pretty much the norm.

After much research we determined the following issues to be the culprits in why the cheap hosting companies have high turnover and a larger percentage of dissatisfied customers.

  • The practice of overselling their disk space
    • This theory is simple. If you have 80 GIG hard drives you sell 320 GIGS in hopes that your customers will never use all the space you sell them. This setup goes awry when everyone actually does use the space allocated to them.
  • The practice of offering HUGE bandwidth
    • Offers of 100 GIGS of monthly bandwidth sure sounds tempting. But unless your site is one of the top sites on the net you'll never use it. Most sites use less than 1 GIG per month.
  • File count limitations
    • Sure, you have 1 GIG of disk space. BUT, they allow you just 25,000 total files. Do the math. Your files would have to be HUGE to use all that space with that number of files
  • Resource limitations
    • Yes, they will limit the types of scripts you run and turn off your site in the event that it is determined that you are using more resources than allowable. This could be a shopping cart, a photo gallery, a message board or other popular element
  • Poor customer support
    • I don't care how cheap the service is, customer support is vital. Even for $5 per month a customer feels they deserve quick responses to their questions and fast fixes for the technical issues related to their server and web site.
  • Special Requests
    • So you have a script or program you'd like to run on your account but it requires a special Perl or PHP module installed. Good luck!
  • Support for third party scripts
    • Low-budget hosting companies are realistically targeting new web site owners. Normally these are people who are not as experienced in setting up CGI and PHP scripts and need assistance. Most low-budget hosts refuse to offer support for any programs.
